Matt Morman - Managing Partner
Matt was born and raised in Westerville, OH and attended high school at Columbus Academy. He went on to earn his Business Degree with a specialization in Professional Golf Management from Mississippi State University. This was followed by 13 years as a PGA of America Professional with time spent at Scioto Country Club, Jim McLean Golf Schools and lastly as the Director of Golf at Shooting Star in Jackson Hole, WY.
Matt met Michele (Category Manager for Cardinal Health) in 2007 and they married in 2009. They have two growing children, Mackenzie Grace and Rexford Hayes, and live in Gahanna, Ohio.
Matt started in the synthetic industry in 2013 as a Regional Sales Manager for The Recreational Group (XGrass, Tour Greens, Versacourt). In 2015 Matt was promoted to Vice President of Operations for the Tour Greens brand and focused on growing the Tour Greens dealer network and large-scale golf specific projects.
Matt Brings Tour Greens to Ohio
In 2017 Matt started Tour Greens Columbus, which became Tour Greens Ohio in 2018. Also, in 2018 Matt partnered with Connor Sweeney (Tour Greens Michigan) and Mark Pflaumer (Tour Greens WNY) to create Midwest Synthetic Turf. The group installs putting greens across 7 states. Connor and Matt took MST to the Florida market in 2020 and in 2023 started Florida Synthetic Turf.
Currently, Matt is the sole owner and operator of Maxx Turf (Tour Greens Ohio & Indiana) and Florida Synthetic Turf (Tour Greens Orlando & Jacksonville). Matt has sold and installed over 1,000 synthetic turf projects across 19 states including California, North Dakota, and Alabama.
Shannon Thomas-Sheetz
Born and raised in Dublin, OH, Shannon graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Fashion & Merchandising and spent her first decade in that industry. After working for Matt’s wife at Zulily and taking a break to raise her two children, Shannon felt the drive to return to the workforce. Now, she passionately operates Maxx Turf, bringing her integrity, communication skills, organization, and attention to detail to the forefront.
Lead Foreman - Doug Rowe
Born and raised in the Columbus area, Doug spent his first 18 professional years in the automotive industry and then the landscape industry. Doug joined our team as an installer in February of 2020 and quickly grew into an integral part of our operation. Doug has now built over 300 putting greens and plans on building 3,000 more. Our customers consistently praise Doug and his crew for being polite, communicative, respectful of their property, and showing an obvious love for building greens.
What's in a Name?
Tour Greens Ohio is a Maxx Turf Brand. The Maxx in Maxx Turf is derived from a few parts of owner Matt Morman’s life. Matt’s kids are Mackenzie (6) and Rex (2), and when you combine a few letters from their names, you have Max. Matt is also a lifelong dog lover and has been fortunate to have two rescue pups named Maxx and Max. Finally, Matt and his team believe in giving the Maximum effort in all they do in this business and believe that Maxx Effort shows through every project.
